As many as 120 speakers from 40 educational institutions including UET, Punjab University, FC University, LUMS, Kinnaird College, UCL, LSE, Beaconhouse and LGS are participating in the six rounds of nail-biting contests.
GCU VC Dr Khaleeq-ur-Rahman said the GCU debating society excels not only in winning laurels from all over the country but also hosts the finest oratorical contests which find no match in our peer institutions. He greeted the guest speakers upon their participation in the GCU contest and hoped that the best team would ultimately grab the coveted GCU trophies.
“Debates to my mind are the ideal breeding grounds for nurturing the fertile minds of the future generations of jurists, politicians, educationists, scientists and entrepreneurs,” the VC said.
He took pride in the marvellous achievement of the GCU Debating Society President Saad-ul-Hassan who was declared the best orator of Pakistan at the HEC Inter-university Debating Championship and best speaker of the Punjab at the chief minister’s speech contest.
