The graduates belong to various faculties, including Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Management Sciences, Engineering and Applied Sciences, Computing, Social Sciences and Humanities, Basic Sciences and Media Sciences.
Thirteen Zulfiqar Gold Medals and 16 Chancellor's Gold Medals were awarded to the graduates and post-graduates for obtaining top positions in the examinations and securing distinction for their best performance in the academic field in various disciplines.
Patron-in-Chief of the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences, HEJ Research Institute of Chemistry, University of Karachi, Prof Dr Atta ur Rahman was the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion Dr Atta ur Rahman congratulated the graduating students and prayed for their success in practical life.
He also congratulated the management and faculty of the Riphah International University for maintaining high standards of education and for holding regular convocations.
He said Pakistan needed highly educated youth with a commitment to transform society into a knowledge-based society.
He said higher educational institutions had to play a vital role in social development and educational transformation of the people. The Riphah International University was making a great contribution in this regard. Rector University of Management and Technology, Lahore, Hasan Sohaib Murad, in his speech, said public sector as well as private sector had to play a responsible role in building future of knowledge economies.
He said the Riphah University had set an example for other institutions in imparting standard professional education with focus on character building of the students.
Pro-Chancellor of Riphah International University Hassan Muhammad Khan, in his remarks, highlighted the future plans of the university and said Ras-al-Khaima, College of Dental Sciences had already started functioning in the UAE. He said the university was now planning to establish its campus in Mauritius.
He also apprised about the finalization of the plan for construction of new campus of the university in Islamabad.
He said an agreement had been signed for the purpose with a consortium of world renowned architectural companies led by John R Harris and Partners (JHRP).
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Anis Ahmad, in his address, said that this was an age of globalization with challenges in strategic areas of economy, education, security and culture.
He said Riphah International University was imparting knowledge and skills to the graduates with leadership qualities to meet the challenges effectively and successfully.
