In this time of exam prep many students like yourself can feel lazy. The long study hours can sound even more difficult in winters, when the cold weather makes it hard to get out of bed. However, we can’t really give in to laziness and lethargy at one of the most decisive times of our life. Can we?
Don’t worry! We completely understand your situation, and so we have bought you some tips and strategies, using which you can get rid of laziness, and score stellar grades in your board examinations. Let’s dig in,
1. Go Hard on Yourself to Attain Discipline
Nothing will improve until you attain discipline for yourself. There is no short cut to hard work. So, you have to put in dedicated efforts into your studies. This means that you must follow a set study routine. Wake up, sleep, eat, and study in its dedicated time. Even if you don’t feel like it, stick to your routine.
In order to do this, you need a great deal of self-control and discipline. You can only have that if you keep your eyes on your goal, and strive day and night to achieve it.

2. Have a Good Sleep Schedule
If you have an inconsistent sleeping schedule, laziness during your study time is a given! You must sleep at least 6 to 7 hours per day. Some students are night owls, while others are morning people. Keeping this in view, you should identify the most active hours of your brain activity. These hours are the ones in which you can learn quickly, focus deeply, and memorize things more easily. Make sure that you have slept well before this time of the day arrives. This will help you to stay active and you will be in a better mood.

3. Give Yourself Adequate Study Breaks
Studying 5 hours in a row is not a wise choice to make during exam season. Human brain can not maintain its focus for that long. If you are someone who can lose focus easily, divide your study time using the pomodoro technique. If you need to make sure you have longer sittings before you give yourself a break, we would suggest that you study for 2 hours, and give yourself a half hour break. Similarly, you can adjust your study hours and breaks according to your own focus and requirement.
Be careful that you do not give yourself unnecessarily long breaks. If you need to study the whole day, you can take 3 breaks with a duration of 1.5 to 2 hours. The rest of your breaks must not exceed 40 minutes. These breaks will help you freshen up and relax your mind.
4. Do Not Forget to Exercise
A healthy mind resides in a healthy body!
We understand that the exams around the corner are a big stress for you. But you need to be physically active in order to fight the stress and stay healthy. 6. Give Yourself Progress Rewards
This one’s easy.
1. Set daily, weekly, and monthly targets
2. Work according to your study targets
3. Whenever you achieve a target, reward yourself with something you like.
Giving yourself a reward will motivate you to keep going and makes studying more fun. But what do we mean by rewards in this case?
A reward can be anything that can make you happy. For example, you complete a chapter and reward yourself with a chocolate. If you don’t have a sweet tooth, maybe you can play your favorite video game for half an hour. Similarly, you can also go for a stroll outside, call your friends and family, cook something, or do another thing you like. But make sure that your rewards do not have an endless duration!
Giving yourself a reward is also a motivation that can brush away your laziness, and help you stick to your targets.
7. Get Rid of Distractions While You Study
If there is a tempting distraction in your study space, you will definitely feel lazy, procrastinate, and eventually get detracted. A tempting distraction could be a gadget, an arts pad, a musical instrument, and any other thing that is not related to your studies.
To get rid of distraction organize your study space like this,
1. Find a calm and peaceful spot
2. Prefer that your chair faces the wall
3. Clear your table of any other material, including books, if you do not need it for the study session you aim to conduct at that time
4. Keep a bottle water and a glass
When you manage your study space this way, you will have minimized most of the distractions that can tempt you to not study.
