But along with excitement of commencement of a new life, there are certain fears associated with it. As a college freshman, a student experiences a lot of things but before any new experiment many fears or insecurities do come in mind about what is going to happen next, whether I'd be able to make through it or not, would the circumstances go in my favour or against and many more such fears a college freshman might have.

College is a whole new level thing for a student and as a freshman you don't know about the people you're going to encounter. So one might develop this fear and it is quite natural. It can be a painful situation if a freshman is unable to have sound understanding with anyone in college which is, although, a rare case. Most freshman develop good bonding with their fellows and make this period a memorable time of life.
Leaving old friends behind is yet another fear. No one knows that where would he go after the school ends and what college he will get admission in. Friends with whom you share the perfect bond of friendship over years, it becomes naturally difficult to part with them and go to an unknown place where you barely know anyone. This fear, again is quite obvious.
Another main fear college freshman may develop is the burden of studies and failure. It is quite obvious that college life is an entirely different phase from school life. School life was a relatively easy phase to pass and score well. When a fresh school graduate enters into his dreamland of college, he is usually not aware about the college studies and burden. So when he get to know so, he starts stressing out about academics and develop the fear of failure and relegation. College academics are definitely not a piece of cake, and are quite burdensome. So this situation can make a young graduate become insecure and fear about failure.
