As many as seventeen thousand students will be awarded degrees while gold and silver medals will be distributed to graduates securing top position in various programmes.
This was announced by the Vice-Chancellor, AIOU, Prof. Dr. Nazir Ahmed Sangi while presiding-over a meeting held here to review arrangements for the forthcoming convocation.
The Vice-Chancellor said it is hoped that Chancellor of the University, President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardai will grace the central ceremony of the convocation as a Chief Guest which would be held in Begum Nusrat Bhutto Auditorium at the main campus of the University in Islamabad. At the same time the local notable stakeholders/ educationists will preside-over the regional convocation in fourteen cities. This convocation, he said is likely to be the largest convocation ceremony in the country’s history.
