Punjab Cabinet has approved phasing out BA and MA programs in the colleges. The 37th Cabinet meeting was held at the Chief Minister's Office under the chairmanship of Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar.
The meeting approved to change the names of government colleges after phasing out BA / BSc, MA / MSc programs. BA and MA programs will end from January 1, 2021, and no new admissions will be offered after January. Degree College will be renamed as Associate Degree College; Post Graduate College will be renamed as Graduate College.
Higher Education Commission Islamabad has already instructed universities to end BA and MA programs and all major universities of the country have started associate degree programs. Now the Punjab government has also approved to end these programs being offered in the degree colleges of the country.
