The Government Elementary Girls School Wara was inaugurated by area MPA Mehr Saqlain Anwar Sipra on April 25, 2011. Education department officials including the EDO were also present in its ceremony.
Twenty-five students were also enrolled in class sixth at the school. These girl students daily come to the school but leave for home without being taught as MPA Sipra and the district education authorities concerned have shown no interest in appointing a teacher there. Parents of the students are worried about the future of their daughters and people of the area question who will be responsible for wasting one year of the students? People of Wara and surrounding villages say they had approached MPA Sipra and the EDO Chiniot repeatedly, who only gave hollow assurances.
The parents of the students and people of the area have appealed to the chief minister to take notice of their plight and give orders for immediate appointment of a teacher at the village school. The News could not reach MPA Mehr Saqlain Anwar Sipra despite repeated attempts on his cell phone. When contacted Secretary School Education Department Punjab Aslam Kamboh, he said he did not exactly know about the school. He said the school building might be inaugurated but teachers were recruited after a due process through SNE afterwards. He said the recruitment process was underway these days as posts of teachers for Chiniot were already advertised, adding teachers would be available from the coming academic session in April 2012.
