Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has decided to send 1,000 students from Pakistan to China's Yangling Agricultural Demonstration Base for advanced training in agriculture at government expense. The government will bear the cost of the training program. During the visit, the prime minister invited the Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University to open a campus in Pakistan. The PM ensured to provide full support in this regard.
He also instructed the Pakistani ambassador and the relevant authorities to finalize the project with the Chinese authorities. He was briefed on the collaborative agricultural research conducted at the Yangling Agricultural Demonstration Base. Notably. He was told in the briefing that 26 countries cooperate in agricultural research in the Yangling Agricultural Demonstration Base. Pakistan was the first country to start cooperation in the Yangling Agricultural Demonstration Base.
Pakistani scientists and Pakistani universities participated in the research. The Prime Minister said that Pakistan is an agricultural country, the government is trying to innovate in agriculture to increase production per acre, Pakistani agricultural products and their processing can increase domestic exports.
