The Higher Education Commission (HEC) announces the registration schedule for Higher Education Aptitude Test (HAT). HAT is conducted through the Education Testing Council (ETC) for the award of all HEC scholarships and for admission to MS/M Phil programs through a uniform, accessible, and transparent selection process.
The last date for registration of HAT is July 23, 2024. Any change in test date will be communicated through www.hec.gov.pk and http://etc.hec.gov.pk Applicants who have already applied for MS/MPhil admission or HEC scholarships and who intend to apply for HEC-sponsored scholarships or for admission to MS/MPhil programs in any HEC recognized university may apply for registration.
Who Can Apply for Higher Education Aptitude Test (HAT)?
- Who have already applied online for any MS/MPhil admission OR HEC scholarships via e-portal for the further final selection process.
- Who intend to apply for the scholarship schemes advertised in the future including those by HEC-sponsored Pakistani universities.
- Who are interested in securing admission in MS/M Phil programs in public and private universities of Pakistan
How to apply for HEC Aptitude Test (HAT)

- In case of any query during the online registration, please visit onlinehelp.hec.gov.pk or visit HEC regional offices for guidance.
- Application Submission comprises two steps, viz. profile completion using the "My Profile" section and application submission using the "Higher Education Aptitude Test" links on the menu panel on the left-hand sidebar of the online portal.
- Only SUBMITTED applications will be considered for the test and applications in SAVE or INCOMPLETE mode will not be entertained.
- Candidates will deposit the fee amount via 1Link 1bill invoice.
- Click on verify online payment on ETC dashboard.
- The test fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.
