LUMHS raises stipend of post-graduate students

HYDERABAD, Nov 2: The Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS) has increased the stipend of post-graduate students to Rs42,500 from Rs12,000 per month.

Vice-chancellor of the university, Prof Noshad A. Shaikh announced the increase in stipends in a meeting with the students.

He said that the additional amount would be paid by the university till the release of funds from the Sindh government.

The decision was made in the interest of patients as they are suffering a lot since last three weeks because of the strike by post-graduate students, he said.

Prof Shaikh appealed to the government to allow an increase in the number of post-graduate students at the university and allow stipend to students of diploma courses, also.Students resumed their duties immediately after the announcement by calling off the strike.

CERTIFICATE DISTRIBUTION: The French language certificate distribution ceremony was held in the Department of International Relations of the Sindh University.
