The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) and Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) announce Pakistan's first-ever Mathematics Olympiad (PMO). Students of Matriculation/O-Level and Intermediate/A-Level can participate in the Mathematics Olympiad.
Winners of the Olympiad will be given cash prizes, medals, laptops, and scholarships. The scholarships will be provided to the winners of the contest for further studies in top-ranked Pakistani universities. The initiative is aimed at developing critical and analytical skills amongst the young generation of Pakistan.
PMO Syllabus
LUMS has developed the syllabus for the PMO, which will be publicly available. A model question paper has also been crafted, offering students valuable insights into the format and level of difficulty of the competition.
Eligibility Criteria of PMO
Students enrolled in Secondary School Certificate (SSC / Matric) or O level, and Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC / Intermediate) or A Level, as well as equivalent qualifications from all educational streams across the country, can participate in the contest. This inclusive approach ensures that students from diverse educational backgrounds have the opportunity to participate and showcase their mathematical talents on a national platform.
PMO Awards
High achievers and winners of the PMO will be awarded prestigious prizes, including cash awards, medals, laptops, and scholarships for admission to top universities in Pakistan. These incentives aim to encourage students to pursue excellence in mathematics and inspire a generation of problem-solvers and critical thinkers.
