A meeting of inter-provincial education ministers was held under the chairmanship of Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood, in which the government has decided not to promote any student without examination this year.
It was decided in the meeting that examinations of all classes would be held in any case. In the first phase examinations of 10th class and 2nd year shall be conducted. 9th and 1st-year exams shall be conducted in the 2nd phase. It will be ensured that SOPs are being followed during the examinations.
10th and 12th class examinations will be held in the third week of June. The decision is taken considering the admission process of the local universities start in July/August. Maximum efforts shall be made to announce the results in time to facilitate the timely admission process of the universities.
According to the decision, in case of delay in results, provisional certificates will be issues. Universities will admit students on the basis of Provisional Certificate. It has been decided in the meeting that summer vacations will be reduced. The duration of the summer vacations will be decided by the provincial governments.
