Interprovincial Education Minister's Conference held under the chairmanship of Federal Minister. The meeting agreed in principle with the proposal to conduct the examinations in two phases due to the third wave of covid. 10th and 12th class examinations will be held in the first phase in July, while the ninth and eleventh class papers in the second phase in August or September. The decision in principle was taken at an online meeting of the Inter-Provincial Ministers' Committee chaired by the Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood on Wednesday evening. Education Ministers of all provincesAJK and GB also attended the meeting.
IBCC proposed to promote 9th and 1st-year students without exams, but the education ministers rejected the suggestion. Inter Board Committee of Chairmen IBCC also proposed that Tenth and twelfth-grade students should only be given optional papers. However, the education ministers present at the meeting rejected the proposal. Now students will have to appear in exams of all subjects. Education ministers said that there is no scope for promotion policy. Education Ministers agreed that students will have to go through the examination process in any case.
It was agreed that the examinations should be conducted in two phases to break the student rush and simultaneously involve half of the students in the examination process. As the universities normally start their semester in September to continue the academic cycle, the examinations of 10th and 12th class students will be held in July. However, these students will also give papers in all subjects including compulsory subjects. ۔
