Mr. Yousuf Almas, CEO Eduvision participated in the event as a Master Trainer. Mrs. Zunaira Cheema, Admin and Program Officer, Youth Development Center also participated as a special guest in the workshop.
SURPRISED PARTICIPANTS
The workshop started with an interactive activity. Mr. Yousuf Almas asked the participants to write down their tentative future plans. The activity comprised of certain key questions, which play an important role in determining the motivation factors and satisfaction level of an individual in his/her quest for excellence. All the participants shared their answers and thoughts in response to the questions asked in the activity.
At the end of the activity, the Board Toppers shared their experience. The participants were surprised when they encounter such simple but key questions as what exactly they want out of their career. Almost all the participants mentioned that they were surprised and shocked, as how they never thought about such important issues; rather they were just busy in scoring high marks or securing position. The students mentioned that they never had a clear plan to which direction they are heading, and what they want to achieve in their life. Rather their focus was only to be a Doctor, engineer, Lawyer etc…
WORKSHOP ACTIVITIES
Mr. Yousuf Almas, then guided the students about how to plan a career. His interactive lecture, accompanied by a number of activities included the following topics:
--> Future Prospects
--> How to Develop a Career
--> Entering and Advancing in a Career
--> Challenges in a career
--> What "Success in a Career" means
The workshop was a great success as the students participated very actively, their interest level was high both during lecture and activities and in question answer sessions. At the end of three hour session, students asked a number of questions related to their educational and future planning. The arrangement were excellent and all facilities and assistance was provided to conduct the smoothly.
FEEDBACK
Feedack of the students was highly encouraging and satisfying. Almost all Board toppers mentioned that Career Planning is one of the most important but unfortunately most neglected areas in our education system. Many students emphasized on setting career counseling cells in schools and colleges for the betterment of the young generation.
The Workshop ended on a high Note with high ambitions and a promise from the participants to take the Career Decisions very seriously, Making an informed decision, Choosing rather than being Chosen, and going in the right direction.
