This was stated by Chairman Punjab Education Foundation, Raja Anwar while presiding over a departmental meeting at his office on Friday. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Managing Directors, Programme Directors and other officials. The participants reviewed in detail the progress of gratis education programme for the poor and deserving children in the province and observed that this programme is a ray of hope for the hopeless.
Raja Anwar told that the children will also be imparted free training of various technical and vocational trades so that they could be able to start their small scale businesses after matriculation and may not end up as unwaged youth. He said that PEF has also strengthened the partner schools through various useful interventions which have especially benefited the low-cost schools.
He said that the useful interventions introduced by the PEF have already won the confidence and trust of the national and international bodies because of their cost-effectiveness and success. He hoped that the new initiative will go a long way in eradicating the quagmire of ignorance and poverty at the grassroots and would pave the way for an educated and enlightened society where no one will be deprived of educational rights due to poverty.
