Department of Specialized Healthcare Punjab has decided to recruit 3000 nurses for Govt Hospitals across the province. Government Hospitals in Punjab are facing a severe shortage of nurses and trained staff. The initiative is aimed at providing better health facilities to the general public at Government Hospitals.
3,000 charge nurses will be hired. The Nurses will be hired on 16 scales and will be recruited across Punjab. The hiring process will be carried out by the Punjab Public Service Commission to maintain transparency and merit. Department of Specialized Healthcare has written a letter to the Punjab Public Service Commission in this regard. In a letter to the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC), the SHC&MED states that the department intends to regularly recruit 3,000 charge nurses (BS-16)/ Batch-2024, including all quotas. In this regard, it attached a duly filled requisition as per the prescribed PPSC form and relevant documents. The SHC&MED requested that the hiring process be completed on a top-priority basis and that recommendations for selected candidates be made by the rules and policy.
The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) will initiate the recruitment process with newspaper advertisements. The complete details including eligibility criteria, application process, and schedule will soon be published on the PPSC website and also in major newspapers. This initiative of the Department of Specialized Health Care has created a wave of happiness among the unemployed nurses and they have demanded the Health Department to announce more recruitments on the vacant seats of all the hospitals so that the public sector hospitals can meet the shortage of nurses.
