Punjab Boards Committee of Chairmen has made major amendments to its examination rules. According to the new rules, students will not be considered completely failed in matric and intermediate exams. Students failing in any number of subjects will now appear in 2nd annual exams (previously known as supply exams) in only those subjects. No student will be declared completely failed.
The decision is made to ensure that students continue their education and do not leave their studies after failing in a few subjects. Previously, students failing in more than two subjects had to appear in the exams of all subjects in the annual exams and were not allowed to appear in supply exams.
After the recent changes, the candidate will be given two chances to clear the subjects they could not pass. Now students will not be completely failed in matric and intermediate. In case of failure, the candidate has to re-clear only the relevant subjects. Most of the students used to drop out after failing multiple subjects. The decision is made to encourage the students to easily clear Matric and Intermediate exams without much burden.
