Rawalpindi, Nov 06: Students are perturbed and confused over the possible rescheduling of all annual examinations two months prior to their fixed schedules because of the possibility of the general elections in April.
If this would be the case, students would have to finish their courses hurriedly and there would be no gap for preparation of annual examinations. Hameedullah, a student of class 10, said: "If the examination are rescheduled before their designated time, we will not have enough time for its preparation. We have a proper schedule of the course and after finishing the course we do preparation in schools and colleges."
Parents are also tense because of the possible rescheduling, and said that this is equivalent to jeopardising the career and future of students for political gains. "Our children cannot prepare for their examinations with unfinished courses," they said.
Education District Officer Qazi Zahoor-ul-Haq, said that till now he doesn't have any news about rescheduling of the examinations. "It's not in my notice," he said.
Rawalpindi Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (RBISE) Spokesman Arsalan Cheema, when contacted, said that the supplementary examinations of HSSC Part-I and II would start on November 6 as per schedule and there would be no rescheduling of these examinations. "Every month, a meeting is held in which officials of nine education boards participate and take important decisions. In these meetings, all decisions are taken," he said.
