The school education department, the Government of Sindh has finalized the arrangement to recruit more than 37000 teachers across the province. The recruitment process shall be completed in phases. Chief Minister has approved the hiring of teachers. An advertisement for new recruits in the education department will be published next week. Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has approved the recruitment of thousands of teachers in government schools in Sindh.
A committee will review the recruitment policy for 2021 for teaching and non-teaching staff. It is recommended to set graduation as a minimum requirement for the post of primary school teacher. Previously the primary school teacher’s post was of grade 9, but new recruits may be given a higher grade of 14 based on the change in qualification from intermediate to graduation.
The School Education Department in collaboration with IBA University Sukkur has finalized the arrangements in this regard. Provincial Education Minister Saeed Ghani had announced the recruitment of 37,000 teachers in Sindh in phases. In the first phase, thousands of Primary School Teachers (PST) and Junior School Teachers (JST) teachers will be recruited. The Department of School Education has entered into an agreement with the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Sukkur in this regard.
This is also pertinent to mention here that it is recommended that the teacher shall remain in a primary school throughout their service. Therefore, a service structure may be created for their career progression instead of promoting them to other posts (JESTs, HSTs, SSTs). The post of a senior primary school teacher (grade 16) and the post of a Head or chief Primary School Teacher at grade 17 can be created for the promotion of primary school teachers.
