The Punjab government has announced the reopening of educational institutions in Punjab, except for those in the Lahore and Multan divisions, starting tomorrow.
The Environmental Protection Agency, Government of Punjab, has issued a notification in this regard. The notification states that ambient air quality has improved in most districts of Punjab due to rain. Therefore, all educational institutions, except in the Lahore and Multan divisions, shall reopen effective November 19, 2024 (Tuesday), with the physical presence of staff and students.
The government has imposed the following restrictions:
- Schools shall not open before 8:45 AM.
- All staff and students must wear face masks.
- There shall be a complete ban on all outdoor sports and outdoor co-curricular activities until further notice.
- All educational institutions shall introduce class-wise school closing timings to avoid traffic congestion.
It is worth mentioning that earlier, the Punjab government had issued a notification closing educational institutions from November 17 to November 24.
