The government of Sindh has announced the schedule of Matric and Inter exams 2023 in the province. According to the latest development, the Matric examination shall start from May 8 and inter-exams 2023 shall start from May 22 in the province including Karachi.
The decision was taken in the meeting of the sub-committee of the Steering Committee. Board exams pattern for Matric and inter exams is also changed. According to the new pattern, the share of MCQs in classes 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th has been reduced from 40% to 20%. MCQs had a 40% share in the previous matric and inter exams but now according to the decision, short answers and detailed answers have been given a 40/40% share in paper.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Secretary of School Education Sindh Ghulam Akbar Laghari. Secretary Colleges Ahmed Bakhsh Narejo, Chairman of Boards, Acting Director of Private Institutions Sindh Professor Afzal Ahmed, and representative of Private Schools Association Tariq Shah also participated in the meeting.
The committee rejected the previous proposal of starting the matriculation exams on April 28 immediately after Eid-ul-Fitr, saying that since the exams of sixth to eighth classes are held in Ramadan, hence it would not be possible to conduct the board exams at the same time. Matric exams will start on May 8 and inter exams will start on May 23 in the province.
