An orientation ceremony in this regard was held at Shifa International Hospital that was addressed by Chancellor STMU Dr Muhammad Ata, Executive Director Department of Allied Sciences STMU Dr M Naseem Ansari, Dean of Faculty of Allied Health Services STMU Dr Muhammad Amin and Programme Coordinator DPT STMU Kashif Khan. Faculty members, students and their parents attended the ceremony.
The speakers formally welcomed the students in this five-year degree program and gave orientation on the program, its syllabus, practical exposure and facilities at STMU and Shifa International Hospital that would be beneficial for the students in learning new skills and knowledge in physical therapy.
The first batch would pass out in year 2017.
This is pertinent to mention that Shifa International Hospital has one of the largest rehabilitation centers in the region where more than 30 qualified therapists provide rehabilitation services to the patients in outpatient and inpatient facilities. Shifa’s rehabilitation center would provide practical training opportunities to the DPT students as well.
