Talking to the delegation, Shahbaz Sharif said that Turkey was a brotherly Islamic country of Pakistan and deep-rooted cultural and historical ties existed between the two countries. He said a university would be set up in Lahore with the cooperation of Turkey for modern education.
He said Turkey was a great friend of Pakistan and relations between the two countries had stood the test of time. It is the need of the hour that close ties between Turkey and Pakistan should be converted into trade and economic cooperation, he added. He said that vast opportunities of investment in various sectors existed in Pakistan, particularly in Punjab. A favorable atmosphere for investment has been created in the province and all facilities are being extended to investors under one roof, he added.
He said the Punjab government with the cooperation of people and philanthropists had constructed 22 model villages in flood-hit areas where educational, health, sports, technical education and all modern residential facilities were provided. The model villages will soon be handed over to flood affectees, he added. He said the Pak-Turk Education Foundation was playing an important role for the provision of quality education.
