No, Medical means MBBS to everyone in spite of the fact that there are 14 sub-fields available in Medical after FSc in Pakistan and every field of them is of utmost importance including MBBS. Over 110 Undergraduate degree programs/disciplines including Medicine (MBBS) Dentistry (BDS), Pharmacy (Pharm. D) and Nursing are being offered in Pakistan in the field of Medical. Q. Which subjects are required for admission in Medical in Pakistan?
In order to get admitted to any of the medical colleges of Pakistan, one must have passed HSSC Pre-medical or its equivalent exam (A’level, 12th grade) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as major subjects irrespective of the education system. The second thing that needs to be kept into consideration is Urdu, Islamic Studies, and Pakistan Studies. It is not necessary to take the exam of these subjects if the student has taken his/her exams outside Pakistan physically but if he/she has appeared in the exams from Pakistan then it is necessary to take exam of these subjects also whether the student is studying in the Pakistani education system or any other system (A’ level etc).
Q. Does the student have to appear in the entry test?
Every student seeking admission to any medical college in Pakistan will have to appear in the entry test including Overseas Pakistanis and International students. One must prepare for the entry test with full concentration. Appearing in Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC)'s Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT) is compulsory. A student will have to pass the MDCAT to be eligible for admission to Medical or Dental Colleges in the country. MDCAT is conducted in different cities within Pakistan and outside the country as well.

Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) cares about concerns about medical education in Pakistan. Basic criteria for admission, admission dates and pre-requisites are defined by PMDC.

Q. When does the admission process start in medical colleges?
Entry test registration starts in May/June. MDCAT is conducted in July/August, while the admission process starts in September/October. All admissions are controlled centrally through Pakistan Medical Commission, however, students need to apply to the respective province's Admitting university for admission to the medical colleges in their respective provinces.
