Career in Aerospace Engineering
Aerospace Engineering is the study and development of aircraft and space crafts. It is a combination of machines that fly in Air (Aeronautical Engineering) and machinery that can move outside the earth's atmosphere which is called Astronautical Engineering.
Nature of the Work:
- Design, develop and test aircrafts and aerospace machines
- Research to find new ways to reduce noise, improve efficiency and decreas fuel consumption of aircrafts
- Ensure the safety of the machines and passengers
- Develop acceptance criteria for design methods, quality standards, sustainment after delivery, and completion dates
Scope of Aerospace Engineering in Pakistan
Scope of Aerospace engineering is high in Pakistan. As only fewer universities offer this course, the man power is limited so the demand is high. With the advent of space technology in Pakistan, and PAF looking for better domestic fighter jets, the scope of Aerospace is increasing and its demand is getting higher.
Employment opportunities of aerospace engineers are projected to grow 6 percent over the last ten years worldwide. The demand of Research and Development in this field is also high. With the increasing interest of the state and related stakeholders in Aerospace i.e. PAF, SUPARCO and NESCOM to launch new satellites, design new aircrafts and space shuttles, the opportunities are increasing.
